The Clinton Experience formed in Volda, Norway in the autumn of 2008, when guitarist/vocalist Stephen Dougherty, bassist Hans Førde, and drummer Robert Steinnes began practicing a handful of original songs. They were soon joined by a second (and much better!) guitarist, Klaus Blø. Their songwriting progressed, and their sound started coming together, featuring a blend of driving guitars, a rock-solid rhythm section, and tuneful melodies.

As a quartet, The Clinton Experience played their first show in March 2009. They won a local “battle of the bands” contest in the spring, and since then they have played many shows throughout the Møre og Romsdal region of west Norway, including the Spon Rock Festival two years in a row. In summer 2010, the band added a new musician to the lineup, Torbjørn Frantsen. Frantsen’s swirling keyboards give the band’s soundscape a lusher, richer texture, ably complementing the still predominant guitars.

In May and June of 2010, the band recorded five songs at Ocean Sound Studio in Giske, Norway. The resulting disc, “Lives of the Astronauts,” was released in autumn 2010 to considerable local acclaim. “Lives of the Astronauts” is  currently on sale at music outlets in Møre og Romsdal, and through various online services, including Spotify.

The Clinton Experience looks forward to recording a full-length album in the near future. In the meantime, they continue to write new songs and attract new fans to their music…
